Introducing our October real bride of the month, Shawna!
The couple’s wedding theme was classy fairytale, and they incorporated personal touches of love throughout the day. “During our ceremony we tied a fisherman’s knot, which when pulled on only becomes stronger,” she says. “We also gave roses to our mothers to show that we appreciate all they have done to raise us.” Shawna and Joel offered American flag pins to all of their guests to represent Joel’s brother, who could not be at the wedding because he was deployed in Afghanistan at the time.
After toasts and speeches given by the couple’s maid of honor, best man and fathers, the couple danced to Jack Johnson’s “Better Together.” “Then we cut our cake, tossed the bouquet and garter and got lifted up in chairs!” says Shawna. “We danced the night away with our family and friends then ran through a tunnel of sparklers before we got whisked away in our limo.”
